Paul Sidhu’s 2014 film, The Black Russian, came onto the scene being compared to action movies such as Man on Fire and Taken. Inspired by true events, this film watches its hero, Collin Bose (played by Sidhu), discover that his fiancee, who is a photojournalist, has gone missing in Pakistan. Despite not knowing whether she is dead or alive, Collin rushes to Pakistan where he must fight to find his loved one in a world filled with drug trafficking, terrorism, and corruption.
This poignant and gripping plot was the perfect atmosphere for Paul Sidhu’s acting talents to be set free. It is no wonder he was nominated for Best Actor at AOF Festival. See more info, here.
The film was shot in the dangerous border between Pakistan and India. “Set amongst this rarely-seen landscape of mountainous vistas, The Black Russian brings these important topics to the forefront for mainstream audiences through captivating drama and heart-pumping action,” says Paul Sidhu, Carlos Valle, and Andres Valle, the writers of the film.
The film also won Best Cinematography at the AOF Film Festival 2014.
